Football tournament at the summer party, company run, volleyball cup, quiz night or hackathon: your guests found their team right while registering, invite teammates by link — and you get finished rosters instead of spreadsheets by email.
The module is free: enable the plugin, add a tournament to your event — done.
For football, volleyball, relays, quizzes, e-sports, hackathons — wherever several guests compete together.
Anyone who picks the tournament ticket founds a team right in the registration form — with a name that is unique per tournament — or joins one. Without the tournament ticket, the guest stays a regular visitor.
The captain shares a team link or a short code. The link preselects the tournament ticket. If you like, a captain approves every new member first.
On the team page the captain sees the roster, approves requests, appoints co-captains, assigns shirt numbers and hands over the role. Roster changes are possible until a deadline you set.
Men, women, mixed or pros and amateurs: each tournament hangs on its own ticket — with team size (min/max), a “coach” role that doesn’t count towards the size, and an optional maximum number of teams.
Once all starting places are taken, a new team goes on the waiting list. Its members are still registered — for the side programme or the party. When a place frees up, the team moves up and receives its tournament tickets.
The per-player fee is simply the price of the tournament ticket; a team flat fee is paid by the founder — and the two can be combined. Order, payment and invoice work like for any ticket.
Team founded, join request, accepted, captain changed, moved up — every step triggers an email. Shipped in six languages and editable per event; team name and team link are available as placeholders.
By default nobody sees other teams. Whether guests can find other teams and whether regular members see their teammates is set per event. Captains always see their roster.
Your tournament tool (e.g. Tournify) handles the schedule and results — you copy the teams and rosters over in one click or export them to Excel. Also via the API.

The tournament as part of your event
At ticketYoo, the tournament is a ticket in your event — not a separate system. Whoever picks it gets the team part of the form; everyone else simply registers for the side programme, the evening event or as a spectator. Check-in, name badges (with the team name if you like), guest app and statistics run for everyone together.
